Tuition and Ghillie Services

Lower Itchen Fishery works with a trusted group of experienced ghillies together with our own resident ghillie (Clayton Moorhouse) who can be called upon to support visiting rods. Each brings strong angling knowledge, a love of the countryside and a deep understanding of the river.

Our ghillies can advise on suitable tackle, recommend effective flies and guide anglers to productive areas of the fishery. They can also provide casting tuition for beginners, either on a one-to-one basis or for small groups.

For day rods, a ghillie may be booked for a few hours, half a day or a full day. We usually recommend no more than three anglers per ghillie, while those new to river fishing may prefer to book one-to-one support.

Ghillie services should be booked in advance to ensure availability.
