River Keeper & Ghillie
Our resident river keeper and ghillie is Clayton Moorhouse.
Clayton started fishing at the age of 6, and is a keen salmon and trout fisherman and lover of anything to do with the countryside. He started his working life as a gamekeeper at Baddesley and Preshaw Estate shoot after which he entered service life in the Army where he had a varied career including being a sniper instructor, and ended as training instructor for the TA.
Clayton has acted as ghillie for both trout and salmon fishermen and has ghillied for the prestigious One Fly Competition.
Clayton has been at Lower Itchen Fishery since 2010.

Pippa
Pippa is a much loved member of the Itchen Fishery team and happiest when she’s out and about by the river. A loyal companion and enthusiastic riverside explorer, she takes her role of keeping an eye on the fishery very seriously.
Whether she’s accompanying the team along the banks or simply enjoying life beside the water, Pippa brings plenty of character to the fishery and is always pleased to be part of a day on the Itchen.
